in copper. 
The Reading Tree
storyteller's chair Durango CO public library,
featured in "Library by Design" spring issue, 2011
Commissioned for the new public library in 
Durango CO. Sculpture is inspired by aspen trees which grow in and around Durango.
A 3' wide custom cushion provides ample
seating for adult and child. Extra cushions 
provide seating for storytime audience. 
Cushions fit neatly into cupboard under 
seat in tree. 
Art Glass reading lamp enhances magical atmosphere of the tree. 
Translucent leaves will take advantage of library's clerestory windows. 
Welded Steel base for seat
Birds on tree are local species stylized to reflect the area's ancient Anasazi Culture.
